Although one can have a colonic without preparation, to get the most out of your treatments the following diet guidelines are suggested for healthy people, start 3 days before your appointment. Please first seek medical advice before changing your diet if you have any health conditions such as diabetes.
- Cut out all "junk" food sweets chocolates cool drinks, diet cool drinks, sugar, artificial sweeteners.
- Cut out animal products i.e. meat and diary. If you must have animal protein have a little fish as it is "lighter"
- Cut out wheat products such as bread pasta cakes and biscuits.
- Cut down and then cut out drinks containing caffeine i.e. coffee tea soft drinks
And for the good stuff!
EAT & DRINK...
- Fresh fruit and vegetables
- Whole grains such as brown rice or quinoa
- Soups and salads
- Drink fresh vegetable juices see recipe , have 3 glasses around 200ml 3x day.
- Herb teas and rooibos tea
- Water around 2 liters of pure water per day
JUICE together (all raw):
1 beetroot
3 carrots
stick celery
1/3 cucumber
Most people feel full of energy and re vitalised how ever you should take it easy and not push yourself too hard with exercise the day of your colonic. Have a light diet. Relax take it easy! You will however be fine to drive home or go back to work. At your appointment other individualised advice will be given re diet, life style and if needed supplements.
